Find Your Customers on Social Media

Find Your Customers on Social Media

Today I was creating a new Facebook Timeline video product.  That meant I was poking around on Facebook today more than normal.

I discovered Diane Kennedy on Facebook.  Diane designs clothing and creates some of  them in bamboo fabric! Be sure to click the link and “Like” her page too.

Find Your Customers on Social Media

The fabric is made here in Canada and the clothing is stitched together here in Vancouver.

A super bonus for me!  Environmentally friendly because of the fabric and because they are made right here in my own back yard.

As soon as I discovered her I realized I just had to go and take a peek, the bonus was that she was advertising a sale from her Facebook Page.

For me it was a 30 minute drive, but well worth it.  An excellent product and so very comfortable.

The moral of the story…

It only took two hours for a potential customer to find her on Facebook, take action and show up at the store and spend money.  If people are telling you that the return on investment with social media is lousy, I suggest you look again.  Congratulations Diane for being active in promoting your business on Facebook!  I am very glad you did.

Believe me, you can definitely find your customers on social media.

    AND the Big Bonus

this environmentally friendly person is just thrilled with my new clothes in more ways than one!

  3. Carla,

I have gotten several clients through videos and articles I have posted. In the videos, they heard certain words that I said that resonated with what they were looking for – and they told me so. In the articles, I wrote about a problem they were having and wanting more information about.

Since my work is all about creating loving relationships, they may have more of a sense of knowing me through seeing a video or reading my writing. It is always about feeling that you know, like and trust someone when it is a service you are weeking. When it is a product, then the image can be essential.

    Warmly,

    Hi Carla,
People cannot realize how important social media are because roi is not easily measured so they don’t know how their investment in money or time translates to profit but the power of social media is brand awareness and actually the opportunity to engage with your consumers directly…

    Hi Carla

Great Post, It just show again that Social media is taking over the market and that it works. I wish my boss can read this blog to see that it did work.

  6. Bravo Carla! There it is – Social Proof that Social Media platforms do make money!
Recently I had joined Pinterest and I have so many people following me from this site just because of my boards of shoes, inspirational quotes, etc. I did purchase a pair of shoes from on person. It Works!
I believe that social media is the key. We can pay for adds, put up squeeze pages, and on and on. That’s great too. But when it comes to my business, I receive more credibility through the social media platforms because I tell people who I am and what I do.
At the end of the day, people buy people, not products! Well, that’s my belief!

I hear stories like that all the time Carla and it makes me smile. Because I agree with you, social media is an excellent way to get the word out and increase visibility for anyone that takes the time to do so.

The way you set up your social media sites and how you communicate with your audience will be an important factory. You discovered Diane Kennedy by surfing Facebook. If Diane didn’t have a presence on Facebook or any other social media, chances are her results would have been much different.

Thank you Carla for sharing your story and how social media is still an important aspect of today’s business.

  8. Hi Carla,

FB is funny! I have a love-hate relationship with FB but when I really think about my life over the past three years or so, many of my friends and clients have come from FB whether directly or indirectly. I do make sure when I meet people that I find out their FB profile and get connected once I get home.

You and I have only recently become connected on FB and I am sure that will allow us to develop a closer working relationship especially since we are both in the PNW!

    Best regards,

  9. Carla, You are so right about the power of social media and how it can influence you to buy a product or service you may never have known about if these businesses didn’t share their info on social media sites. I will be checking out this designers clothing line and sharing it on my Pinterest and FB page. Thanks for sharing your story.

  14. Raena Lynn says:

    Hi Carla,

Don’t ever underestimate the power of social media! I like the way you presented a real scenario about how you did a search and you were able to find Diane and her clothing line. It is a win-win!

I’m very excited about the new Facebook Timeline format because it will help increase our connections and educate about products and services. We have more room to share without being intrusive. Pinterest is another awesome platform that is coming on strong…combine this wonderful technology and you have the opportunity to display your brand and products…the bottom line is we have the platform to connect with others, share, and buy products we love!
