How to Give Your Feedback Directly To Facebook

By

Earlier this week the cute little graphic below caught my eye.  This cute little fox was sitting in the top right corner on my Facebook personal profile Home page.  I am partial to dogs and cats and the graphic caught my eye. WOW, the opportunity to give my feedback and improve my Facebook experience.   In conversations with fellow business owners I often hear complaints about Facebook and the things they want to see in their newsfeed just does not show up.  I also created a post earlier this year called “Facebook Major Changes”, where they mentioned all the work they were doing to make our newsfeed a better experience for us!

So I definitely had to take the survey!  Here are the steps I was walked through by Facebook;

FacebookFacebook

I was then given choices, which one did I want to see in my newsfeed.  I was not surprised when the first one was a choice between a picture and plain text.  I definitely selected the picture.  I actually very rarely stop at just plain text unless it’s something or someone I am specifically looking for.  My next selection, below on the right was much more difficult, because I would actually look at both.  One is a personal friend the other is a group I am a part of.  I actually selected the event because I often go straight to my friends personal profile to check out what she’s up to and where she is.

On the left below was just a total no-brainer for me, the photo won.  Then Facebook threw me a bit of a curve a friend vs something I really like Wine! I would want both of those in my newsfeed!!

It was nice that the posts of my friends kept showing up because I seem to be seeing them less and less even though I have been “liking” and “commenting” quite a bit.  It made me feel good that Facebook really is reaching out and finding out what we want to see in our newsfeeds. Sometimes though friends vs business is a hard choice.  I love Ryan Deiss’s work at Digital Marketer and just a couple of weeks ago I was just about to click on one of his posts and my screen refreshed and I lost it!  So what I want to see is definitely impacted by what has happened to me recently.  Does the same thing happen to you?

Then they threw another wrench into the mix.  A text post they had shown earlier and I had not selected vs a business page post.  I actually didn’t want to see either so I selected “can’t decide” 🙂  But then right on top of that another business post and the same text post I had not selected before.  I thought that seemed quite strange, I have a lot of friends on Facebook, why would this one come up for the 3rd time?  Alas it’s Facebook, they have their own way of thinking. 🙂

Two posts I had selected “can’t decide” on showed up again, so this time I just picked the Infusionsoft one as I use the software and do like to see updates, although I do prefer the ones that come directly from Infusionsoft.  I wonder why the posts from Infusionsoft didn’t show up at all.  Again it’s Facebook!  AND then a doggie post, another no brainer for me, I almost always pick the cute dog posts!

And that was the end of the survey!!

When I see Facebook saying they really do want to make it a good experience for all users and I see surveys like this one I really do believe them.  They have A  LOT of users, as of writing this post they report 1.49 Billion.  That is a lot of people to keep happy!

When you see that cute little fox in the top right corner of your Facebook home page, click on it and give them your feedback.  I expect one day it will help improve your user experience.
