Nice walkthrough. I do not do too much unfriending. Its been a couple months since the last one and that was because the person immediately spammed me after I accepted a friend request. I only give one chance and they blew it off the bat. I normally do not actively look to unfriend people unless it is spamming or way too offensive for my tastes.

  6. Thanks Carla for this great tutorial of how to “unfriend” people on facebook. I’ve done it step by step, but need to unclutter more. I like the idea of scrolling down the list to unfreind them.
Thanks for this great tip, I certainly need to get on it because there are too many people on my facebook that are leading off the business side of it.

    Great Tutorial, Carla.

Do you know if they find out about it?
Then there is the Subscribe/unsubscribe button and it seems like FB made some changes there again in regards to being able to choose what you want to subscribe to. I now seems under Settings when you hover on ‘Friend’. Mmmmh?!

Thank you for providing this information.

  9. Carla,

Just this past Wednesday I gave a webinar all about Facebook and I did not mention how to unfriend someone. Thanks for explaining that. Very valuable.

Hi Yorinda, No they are not notified. The only way would be if they went looking for you and discovered you were no longer friends.

However sometimes there is a glitch with Facebook and you get un-friended even when you don’t want to. That has happened to me a couple of times.

    Thanks for the great question

  11. Carla McNeil says:

🙂 Yes I have definitely had a few of those myself. That was why I went looking for a way to remove them. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
