Social Media Assistant

By

Do you find some days that you just spend too much time on the computer?  I have a couple of very good indicators when it is time to take a break, and this is one of them.

Finn does not like to have attention all the time, he is a very independent cat, but when he does he can also be extremely persistent.

When Finn decides it’s time for him to be my social media assistant, I know that it is time to take a break.

Because…

When he walks across the keyboard he has been know to wreck havoc!

While building this business online I used to think that I had to do everything myself.  A social media assistant only came into my thoughts about 6 months ago.  I used a service called Replace Myself to find and help me train people.  It was the best thing I ever did, take that leap and hire a VA!

Yes, this is an affiliate link, however if you decide to make this smart decision and get yourself some help I’ll send you the emails I use to hire people.

  1. Hello Carla, great picture! I’ve lived with a couple of cats and neither of them did that to me. One of them used to love to sit on my lap, which made it really difficult to type. She didn’t care though!

I agree, it’s a super idea to have one or a team of people working for you. I have 3 people right now, doing different jobs for me.

Julieanne, I love how cats all have such different personalities. My sister has Finn’s mama and she is so dramatically different.

I just hired my second person and I am loving it!

  4. Hi Carla,

Virtual assistants have saved me when I needed some help in my business but could not justify the expense of an employee. I is great to delegate those routine tasks to a qualified virtual assistant!

They free us to focus on the tasks that we love!

  5. Thanks Carla, to keep up with social media can become overwhelming. Delegating is always good mainly when you found a trustworthy source. Thanks, I have one Assistant at the moment, but since this reference is coming from you, I will be looking into your information.

  6. Cute Carla … My friend’s name is Lucy and she’s a dog, so she demands as much attention as she can get away with – but she does make sure I get her outside (as well as me!) for a walk and some sunshine a couple of times a day.

This is cool Carla. Finn is so cute and I want a cat too but I’m quite scared because I have dogs it could lead to a world war.. LOL.. Every time they enter the office I know they want to get my attention because I’m too focus at work. 🙂

  9. Hi Carla,

Most of us who work on line can relate to your tale. I smiled when you told your story as I have a friend who has two cats who do exactly the same thing when she is working to long.

Out sourcing can be a very important tool to manage and balance our working lives.

    All the best

Go for it Jeffrey, cats are so much fun!
Plus they can be very independent and may not require as much attention as a dog.
(we also have 2 dogs 🙂

I have a cat cassie who loves to play a lot. she goes to sleep with me and wakes me up when she is up. I can totally relate to this one. Especially when the part where when your cat starts to get near the computer and you know what will happen next – havoc!

I dont mind her doing that because I love it when she looks like she wants my attention and then il start playing with her again. But then the bad side is I will eventually spend my time working because too much work has piled up already due to frequent break!Thats when stress comes in. Im playing with cassie to destress but then again playing more often with her leads me to more stress because of piled up work.

I think the idea of having VA is brilliant. this will save me from wrinkles because of too much stress and pressure!

    Hey Carla,

Excellent article and presentation on the importance of outsourcing for your business when the time comes.

I recently wrote on my blog about the advantages of outsourcing relating to good time management strategies. I have used a few outsourcing services myself and of course will continue to do so.

I can’t say that I’ve heard of the service which you are recommending, “replace myself,” but I will be sure to look into this resource in the near future.

    Thanks so much for sharing,
