Social Media Neighborhood – Check Out The Halloween Decorations

By

I live in an awesome neighborhood .  People know each other, they talk across the fence and out on the sidewalk PLUS we have neighborhood “get together”, check out the Halloween decorations!

My personal favorite is Halloween, it seems to me we have more people decorate their houses for Halloween than for Christmas.  The Halloween decorations get more and more extensive each year.  I am a bit behind the times myself and will have to get out and find some more for our house.

Halloween can be so very social when you live on a street with Halloween decorations galore!

We get to admire all the little ones in their very cute costumes. (they are my favorite) The doting parents are so very proud and you can tell they love all the compliments their little ones are receiving!

Some of them are so shy they can hardly get out the words “trick or treat”. 🙂

At our house we hand out full size chocolate bars, but we only buy 3 boxes.  All the neighborhood kids who know us come here first cuz we are usually “outa candy” by 7:30 PM.

I have so much fun answering the door.  My favorite “trick or treat” are the young guys who come without a costume.  At our house the policy is “no costume, no candy, unless you sing”.  You should see the looks on their faces, it is priceless.  Of course I get the most often quoted excuse “I don’t know any songs”.  I just smile and suggest they sing “Happy Birthday”.  They get embarrassed, look at me hoping I’ll say “just kidding”, but I’m not. 🙂  However, those full size chocolate bars must look pretty good because everyone sings!

How social is your neighborhood.

Are you interacting, complimenting and just plain having fun?

Would love to have you put your Halloween stories in the comments section!

We have music, dancing and partying in the street.  Of the 20 or so houses in my block there are only 2 who don’t take part.  If only they knew the fun they were missing.
