LinkedIn, Build Your Brand In Order to Be Found On LinkedIn

By

LinkedIn is becoming more and more popular for business people. It is much more business savvy than the other sites and is less social. There are not as many ways to connect with people and share information. With LinkedIn you can meet people and then build the relationship off line or through other sites.

Four tips to assist you in actually building out your brand so that people will find you. And you want to make sure that the right people are finding you.

1. Complete your profile. Now, of all of the platforms, LinkedIn does request the most information, but it is well worth every moment of your time to go in there and complete the profile in its entirety. If it is going to take you some time to get all that information posted be sure to insert a picture as soon as you possibly can.

2. Get your personal URL. LinkedIn allows you to have your personal URL with your own name, and it is a function within LinkedIn, and it’s really easy to do. What it does for you is it shows a little bit more professionalism plus it makes your LinkedIn URL really easy to send out to people or to tell people.

3. Use keywords. If you are operating your own business and using LinkedIn, you want to use the keywords that describe your business. If you are looking for a job on LinkedIn, make sure you use keywords that describe your experience and the type of job you are seeking. Keywords are very important because it’s all searchable and that’s how people will find you.bigstock-We-recommend-shiny-speech-bubb-42004267

4. Ask for recommendations. Don’t just go out and blatantly ask anyone and everyone. Be strategic in who you approach for a recommendation. Someone who just says “Oh yeah, Carla’s a good social networker”, might even reflect negatively because it’s so generic. That person doesn’t really know you, doesn’t know your work, therefore it appears they are simply recommending you without any personal experience. You want to make sure that you ask for recommendations from people you know, people you have worked with and or worked for. Ask them to complete recommendations for you on LinkedIn that are personal and actually describe what it is that you do.

So get out there, get all of these four tips underway, on your LinkedIn profile, and you’ll definitely be more easily found.
